June 25, 2016, great time that T4A would meet Mr. Wauttichat Kanlayanamit, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, to join celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Bangkok Railway Station, or Hua-Lam-phong Station. “Because accessible facilities is essential for everyone.” Any overseas trip of the Accessibility Is Freedom has one sole aim: to observe and learn the different surrounding environment, and bring it to improve our country. In term of “public space,” which is the main focus of this article, I spent the whole 6 days in Singapore to wander around the city with no less than 10 km/day. [Singapore, 2016] 4 years ago I went surveying (and shopping😜) at Orchard Road in Singapore. Thailandis a member of The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, or CRPD. All members need to continuously update and report their progresses regarding the subject. I got an opportunity to involve with the meeting and, surprisingly, acknowledged tremendous efforts of many members to improve PWDs’ standard of living in their countries.

On October 1, 2015, the representatives from Transportation For All organisation (T4A) handed an official documents to the Minister of Transport, then Mr. Arkom Termpitayapaisit, in regard to the inaccessibility and inefficiency of the overall transportations in Thailand. Parts of the documents included an official letter in rejection of the use of “platform lift.” We investigated and found that there were new installations of platform lift on 3 new stations on the Purple Line Train.

SharityOne of the most proud achievements was various vital contributions to help supporting those who were disadvantaged. The above image was captured during the end of the last year in which I had a chance to give a special lecture at The Redemptorist Vocational School for People with Disabilities, in Pattaya. Two of them as on the left most and the right most are the boys that I pulled them out from their home.

Mega BangnaRecently, I just got an acceptance letter from Mega Bang-na, a leading shopping centre at Bang-na area, Bangkok, with clear path of solutions as followings; 1) Zoning on parking lots: fully completed at 6 by the progress. 2) Service on Priority Parking: security guards were on in-depth training to provide better service. We used to hand our guidance letter to them as the attached link. However, it needs people’s observation to help protecting the right on priority parking from ineligible customers.
