Design can make disabilities disappear

ภาพ ทางเดินเข้าอาคารมีพื้นต่างระดับความสูงไม่เกิน 2 นิ้ว

Before I begin, I would like to clarify that I am not a designer, but rather a user who has encountered various problems. Today, I would like to discuss something that I often talk about. Let’s consider the picture of a walkway leading to a building with a raised floor no more than 2 inches high to separate the outer and inner areas and we see this design almost everywhere, but I see it as a design that “has a significant impact on society.”

“We shall leave no one behind”, A spoken policy that I still have faith in it.

“We shall leave no one behind.” I believe this is rather a famous line you might have heard about it through media. I, too, have come to embrace the line especially serious when I jumped in myself on this journey for equality. The line transcends beyond a national value. It, however, is initiated from the UN to escalate the issue globally and make everyone more equal than ever. That being said, lot of countries throughout on this world are working hard to make it happen. Thailand, as part of it, must comply to this new global value.

A Little Snail

Today, I went on a run at King Rama IX Park. While I was running, I found a little snail crossing the road. Frankly, judging from its speed, it does not have much chance of crossing this road because of runners and cars. Thus, I use leaves to spoon it to another side of the road. The snail immediately hinds in its shell after I touch it. I think the snail might surprise when realized that it is already on another side of the road.

One Aspect of Road Safety is ‘Ourselves’

This picture was taken three years ago during my Japan second trip. It was a late afternoon in Kawaguchi and we were heading back to a train station to return to Tokyo. I took this picture from a distance. We can see elementary school students wearing bright yellow hats and with their hands held high as a clear signal to coming vehicles that they want to cross the road.

Be moved be freedom | Good to see my Dad’s smile

This morning we used CABB taxi, a new player in BKK taxi industry to take my father out of the house. He has Alzheimer’s and a hip fracture, so it is very difficult to go out in a regular car. We usually need to transfer him out of his wheelchair and most taxis have a gas cylinder in the back, so we can’t fit his wheelchair. We use Grab as well, but again, we have to move him physically out of his wheelchair. So in the end, we don’t take him out very much. It makes me sad because my …

A ramen chef on his wheel! Excellent, see you soon!

(คลิ๊ปภาษาอังกฤษ) https://youtu.be/wamCOr48Lzc I watched this video content from Asian Boss. It reminded me a lot about what I had just talked with a young PWDs. This ramen chef served as a prime example for someone who never let his inferior condition to take over his heart. He adapts his skill to suit with his physical condition. Obviously, his “mindset” is essentially the most important. He would have live a life with despair and hopelessness if he allowed his disability to take control his life.

The Little Angels and her runner superdad

There are quite many foreigners living in my residence. When I go downstair, I usually meet with these two lovely young girls. Soon, I got to know her personally as well as her dad. One of the lovely little girls, Valentina, has some motor disability called Cerebral Palsy (CP) which has the weakness or problems with brain sending signal and muscles. These make her life quite difficult than the others. While Vanessa, the older sister, is perfectly normal and healthily fit. She did a great job of being a sister, taking care of Valentina nicely. Her dad is a runner, …

[Good story] The sustainable business is the business that wins the heart of customers. Thanks to Mal and Permobil / Australia

Many of our avid fans must realise very quickly when I told you about my last purchase of ROHO for 6 months then it leaks off. I was so worried because the seat was no where near cheap. It’s almost 20,000 Baht. But I had to buy and use it. Without it, I cannot live and work my life quite well. Because of this seat, it reduced possible pain to my body and allowed me to be crazy with life sometimes. My marathon achievement wouldn’t have been possible without this this seat. It’s not exaggerated to say that this seat …

Behind-the-Scene with Nina – Supergirl

We have intensely moved on the right way, since before the beginning of this year, under a project, SabaMedia. During the past two months, we have worked so hard and gained valuable experiences, though with limitations. We are ambitious to keep the channel in constant improvement with our best effort. To go for outdoor live streaming, I wish the quality of the content produced would be as grand as in Saba Studio. This is my standard I set it so high which unfortunately forced me to bring nearly all my stuff accompanying every time I went for fieldwork, just a …
