Department of Empowerment of PWDs (DEP) jumped down to solve the issue of accessible parking!

Accessibility Is Freedom was attending a meeting with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEP) regarding accessible facilities, held by Mr. Maitri Intasood, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, as President, and Mr. Somchai Chalernaumnuysook, Director-General of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, as Vice President, as well as the management team from the provision of accessible infrastructure and environment for PWDs.

One of main issues was the accessible parking. It looked like a tiny problem, yet it manifested quality of Thai people’s mind which affected vast amount of people including citizen, land owner, public agent, and legal concern. The solution perhaps lies on the systematic re-organisation as a whole. Fortunately, the DEP paid much attention on the issue and would like to modify the problem at a structural level.
