According to the incapability of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the current owner of the entire BTS, that failed to provide adequate elevators and other accessibility facilities on its BTS 23 stations, a group of people with disabilities, for this reason, had prosecuted the BMA and finally won a lawsuit on November 24, 2014. The court thus issued an order to BMA for them to complete, constructed by law, all the remaining elevators and other supportive accessibility facilities within one-year time. We made a field survey on this site six months ago. I got tragic news of Taiwan high-speed train derailed. The news read that the driver admitted he shut down automatic train protection system in an attempt to compensate for the previous delay. The accident costed 18 lives of passengers, many injured. Accordingly, today I would like to stress a concern on human error. Taking about humans, we are undoubtedly the topmost of all the food chain, the most intelligent creature this planet has ever seen. Yet mankind is still under some, if not many, limitations. I usually meet with new people whenever I leave my home and be open-minded. Today, during my returning trip by BTS skytrain, I met with a lovely family traveling to the A-soke station. I wasn’t decisive about their nationality, so I greeted them in Thai. They’re finally Singaporean who recently changed their travel plan from Rat-cha-da Night Market to a shopping mall at A-soke due to the raining.

Yesterday, we had a chance to show those international reporters both the MRT and BTS stations. I started our conversations with “I am concerned about Thailand’s big picture” and gave a scenario “Mr. Sam who is in a wheelchair and came to Thailand and faced several inconveniences due to the lack of facilities for disabled people. What impressions would he convey back home, about Thailand?” We started our journey from Su-wan-na-phum Thailand International Airport by taking the ARL, then the MRT and finished the journey at A-sok Train Station which is in Bangkok’s Central Business District.

25 June 2018 We’re invited to test riding the Khon Khaen Smart Bus which was recently operated in service. Here are few summaries from my experience riding around the city:

25 June 2018 The Khon Kaen Smart City masterplan is one of many projects in the National Economic and Social Development Plan. The city is going to be elected as the leading model for urban development in every dimension. This is great since making things right at first would reduce any costs of modification in the long-run.

28 May 2018 As a chairman, on behalf of Rail System / Transportation For All (T4A) leading by Mr. Theerayuth, to discuss on accessibility problems and plausible solutions regarding the extension of BTS Green Line (Bearing – Sa-mut Pra-karn). Mr. Jeerasak Sripamma, Deputy Director of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, was the guest of honor who performed as a chairman. The meeting involved other relevant parties as well.

9 May 2018 A group of PWDs activist, Transportation For All (T4A), is gathering with other groups of PWDs networks to proceed prosecuting Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for failure to completely install all BTS elevators and infrastructure. This inability to comply is against the order from the Supreme Court which had issued the mandate previously. The group also claimed that the incidence has terribly costed the estimated damage of 1,436 million Baht.

Joseph is an architect from Hong Kong who sent us BTS construction drawing with an important information. But wait a second, this incident, which I’m talking about. He told us SINCE 20 YEARS AGO! Up to the present, whenever he can, he would always come to give us lectures, advices, and support. I’m glad that I have a chance to see him again, and take a picture together! THANKS!
