World is changing fast, ‘accessibility’ can be done very easily

The world is changing too fast. The pace of development is swiftly unprecedented. Thus, nobody can afford to remain behind, so does the PWDs.

But the reality in Thailand tells a different story. With poor accessibility, PWDs are being let down to the bottom line. They’re not just falling behind, but they’re falling APART! If we don’t do something, consequently the gap between the fit and the unfit (ex. PWDs) might become not bigger, but actually unbridgeable.

This is not a wish to live up to an ideal. It’s just an accessibility, not advanced technology or breakthrough innovation, which requires just a modest effort and stuff to actually realise it.

I call this a national agenda. Why? Because our demographic population is increasing becoming more and more aging society, less workforce and more elderly (+ the disabled). Thailand has not become an aging society in a matter of 20 years, it is already happening now! Our people are naturally weakened and need higher quality of accessibility to enhance their lives. If we cannot make such a basic thing like infrastructure (just thing of a footpath on your street) to be accessible enough, we’re truly heading to a disaster.

The image took place in the UK. It’s a kind of scene you would never automatically recognize that it is in Thailand because Thailand doesn’t have this kind of scene, a space with high accessibility. This is not the comparison to bully my own people. I have no interest to do so. But as the things has done, it just shows that they (Thai authorities) are perhaps the one who know next to nothing.

To unlock the dilemma, one crucial way is to make laws that are always followed to the letter. That would help a lot since our laws are written well enough already.

It is far from clear that Thai people would enjoy the accessibility as the First World countries do in real soon. But I, more or less, encourage you to take some initial action. Do whatever you can do! Do not turn a blind eye to it. Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Easy just like that, Cheers!
