I accompanied with the Transportation For All (T4A). My purpose was to gain updated information from various parties. What surprised me was when the Director of DEP introduced the Minister of Social Development and Human Security (SDHS) to me, before he got to the stage. I was totally unprepared. I only informed him that the accessibility problems in public transportations was still a big problem, and asked him for the collaboration to produce a more deliberate result.
The Minister was an earnest guy. He just drag a chair, sat and talked to us face-to-face. A good time won’t last long, so I and other audiences had reported him a variety of troubles. This included a difficulty to find the personal assistant for people with severe disabilities.
In overall, the following were 5 main topics we addressed him for consideration:
- Accessibility facilities
- Employment
- Attitude
- Information linkage
- Disability Services Center
These 5 topics also related directly to our work.
It’s my first time to meet with the new Minister of SDHS, and also the Director of DEP in person.
Both were very nice. Khun Joom even rushed to shake my hand when we first met. What an impressive moment.
I believe that with the power of the two of them, they would manage to provide a great collaboration in a constructive and transparent manner. “Nothing can’t be resolved”
Although it was quite a short talk and no details stressed, it’s a good starting point that we met and knew each other in person. I know we’ll see them again soon.
Thanks for pictures from our network,
Love ❤️❤️❤️
