Accessible Parking

Now, shall we move to abroad and see how it looks like? I have known a young Thai man who is studying in the city of Guildford, about a 45-minute ride by train from London. He’s also part of our assistance. Recently, he sent me a group of pictures as you can see. It’s a parking space in front of a sports centre. What you see are: 1. The priority parking is totally free of use while those ordinary lots are so full. 2. Well design: clear marks and colours.

Days ago, I visited a shopping mall and got to see this car parking on a priority parking with the obviously healthy driver. I then went to question the driver to ensure that he’s eligible. As you later can see on the video, he did a very good job on lying to me before getting in the mall. But at the moment I had no proof. With curiosity and a sense of something gone wrong, I insisted to wait there until eventually the driver returned. I rushed to him and tried to have a conversation about why he did that. …

After an intensive of SabaLive work, here are the main points I would like to highlight;

It was a splendid field work to see what was really happening in our real life. We intended to do it without any advance preparation. We wanted to make it real, natural, and authentic as much as possible. So, its outcome was typically what we’re facing in our society. It showed urban outlook in the sense of accessibility and social perspective toward priority parking, as well as PWDs.

Foodland Fully Drive Forward>>Since a Foodland Sri-na-ka-rin have done fixing the priority parking spots. Today I just got a changed to visit and check around and it looks amazing. Foodland is moving forward to step#2 to fix the rest room and the other basic accessible facilities.

If you don’t know, this video is the beginning of the whole story and the powerful transformation that inspired me to come into this field for making changes for our society. Within a night, the video went viral powerfully on the internet and forced the mall’s management team to give a very quick response.

Incredibly, steel poles are used to design the boundary of priority parking. I personally just don’t favor this kind of practice. It just looks too seriously. But since many customers are lacking understanding of its role to serve the needed one, it is here as it should be. Those security guards are aware of and know all the rules.
