Bangkok City Problems

From a short clip I previously shared without any explanation, today I want to tell you the story behind it… On August 21, 2024, I had an important meeting to attend. Normally, I prefer to use public transportation whenever possible. Around 2 PM, I arrived at my destination, BTS Ploenchit Station, and had to “walk” another 800 meters.

On behalf of the president of a railway accessibility and a following-up of BTS elevators installation group, the representative of T4A association and PWDs, I went to meet Mr. Phanurak Klannurak, director of the TTD, and his board of directors in order to follow up the installation process of additional elevators on BTS stations and also others projects that we may work together in future.

According to the incapability of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the current owner of the entire BTS, that failed to provide adequate elevators and other accessibility facilities on its BTS 23 stations, a group of people with disabilities, for this reason, had prosecuted the BMA and finally won a lawsuit on November 24, 2014. The court thus issued an order to BMA for them to complete, constructed by law, all the remaining elevators and other supportive accessibility facilities within one-year time. A barrier preventing motorcycle is also known as S-Guard barricade. It is a novel innovation brought to you by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) in an attempt to prevent motorists driving on the sidewalk. This weird thing is increasingly enlarging in scale throughout the city of Bangkok, especially at the major intersections. The motorcycle runs over the footpath we see on every single day. We feel nothing, they’re all doing this all over our city. No need the road they use the footpath as a shortcut. All everybody is having trouble while we’re walking and wheeling. No one will but ours, to make the better city. Do you feel any shame ??

The motorcycle runs on the footpath is the one of our city problem that we see everyday. The problem effecting to either our safety as well as our city outlook. The law has already clear defined but the responsibility and the rule administration are low. I went out to do the survey on the footpath at Soi A-soke(Su-khum-vit 21), it is the business center of Bangkok.

I’ve reported to the sources since yesterday, and today finally the wrong data were been completely removed. This is fast! Our next step is to provide the right information to them, thank you Google Map. CHEER!!
