Welcome to Thailand! ‘The Knowledge Co-Creation Program (Group And Region Focus) In Independent Living And Mainstreaming For Persons With Disabilities In Africa 2019’

The 15 years of program was fund by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and held by the Disabled Peoples’ International (DPI). Every year there would from participants from many friends around the world. The training course began from Japan and then Bangkok. Thailand, this year is the third year that we join the program, welcoming guests. Today we brought our new friends to have a tour around Bangkok. We travelled to the old and new public transport systems to give them a glimpse of how the system in Bangkok look like.

We’re a representative of T4A providing Thailand’s Accessibility Update in the regional dialogue held by the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR)

On behalf of T4A (Transportation for All), we were invited to join a regional dialogue held by the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR). The topic this year was “2018 AICHR Regional Dialogue on the Mainstreaming of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the ASEAN Community” / Accessibility through Universal Design) AICHR is an intergovernmental commission whose goal shares the same with us: human rights. Thun, a truly optimistic young girl, called me for an invitation to share some information to a group of activist from Korea. I hold one strong attitude. It was fantastic! For a special lecture days ago with incredible 77 sophomores in Design Business Technology Management Programme, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Thammasat University. It began with a lecturer of the faculty contacted me via FB Page saying that he was my long-time fan and passionate on inclusive design as it is part of our lives. He also used to be a temporary disabled which greatly changed his attitude since then. So, he would like me to give a talk to inspire his students.

Special Lecture “/BE/STRONG” for the young generation

BE STRONGIt was my pleasure to be invited by Dr. Budsakayt Intarapasan, The Assistant to the President for Student Development of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), to be her special guest speaker at the university. She initiated a project called “Project X / Extreme Living”, dedicated to educate young generation of people of disabilities to prepare them before leaving to the outside world. The lecture consisted of 23 futures of the nation in total. They came from all around Thailand.

Congratulation to School of Communications Art students, Rang-sit University, who successfully held a seminar on a topic of ‘When Bangkok Metro Train is opportunity. How could we make it accessible for everyone?’

It all began when the students contacted me via this FB Page and asked some information and insight for conducting their university project, assigned by their lecturer. Fortunately, the lecturer was already part of our Transportations for All (T4A) community. When we got to know what was going on, the coordination went beyond smoothly.
