‘Come on man, it’s just a second.!’ A seemingly tiny problem, but produces huge effect on our society.

Just a second
problem
One of the root causes of the problems and violence in the society today is the lack of public mind. Many people are truly familiar on what is wrongdoing. They unconsciously keep doing that. They also put the excuse that “Because everybody is doing that.” They never question themselves of what they are doing. Is it right or wrong? Appropriate or inappropriate? This failed attitude finally leads to the priority parking problem.

If we are not giving our hands to help solving this problem, or any problems, as a citizen, who else does? I’m going to give a prevalent example from my snapshot on yesterday.

A van driver dropped his boss at the entrance and then parked on a disabled parking with an excuse giving to a security guard “Pleaseee, I’m here waiting for my boss just for a second.” The driver had no luck today as I’m watching this. So I did what I had to do as usual.

  1. I told the security guard to go having a talk with the driver to move the car. He returned with the same excuse mentioned above, again.
  2. So I myself went to talk with the driver. I tried to be nice. He tried to put another excuse like his boss’s legs were in pain. I suddenly took a counterattack that “Sir, that’s a tiny issue. Even if he had no legs, you still have no right to park on disabled parking!” Finally, I politely gave him a lesson that disabled parking was a parking lot designed specifically for disabled people who were really in NEED. If they came here and could not find the parking (because you’re illegally parking on it), they would get in trouble as they absolutely could not get off their car on ordinary parking, which had limited space. I firmly confirm my point that “Sir, you need to move out!” That finally made him to give up and moved his car. I believed that he would not do this again anymore.

Today’s photo:
A motorcycle parked untidy around disabled parking area. I thought that it must be an employee working here and also the one who put the same prevalent excuse “Oh come onnnn, it’s just a second. Please!” Believe me my friend, our society cannot move forward with a disgusting excuse like this.
